Here’s the recipe for my favorite drink. This recipe will make enough for 8 servings. Enjoy!


  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 6 Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Whole Star Anise
  • 1″ Fresh Ginger Root (coarsely chopped)
  • 2 Cups Sugar (to your taste)
  • 1 Cup Dried Sorrel Flowers



  • Place 8 cups of water, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf, star anise, and ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Add the sorrel and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat, cover, and allow to steep overnight (8 hours).
  • Strain and stir in the sugar.
  • Store in glass bottles in a refrigerator; serve chilled.
