Here’s the recipe for my favorite drink. This recipe will make enough for 8 servings. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 6 Whole Cloves
- 1/2 Bay Leaf
- 1 Whole Star Anise
- 1″ Fresh Ginger Root (coarsely chopped)
- 2 Cups Sugar (to your taste)
- 1 Cup Dried Sorrel Flowers
Directions:
- Place 8 cups of water, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf, star anise, and ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add the sorrel and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the heat, cover, and allow to steep overnight (8 hours).
- Strain and stir in the sugar.
- Store in glass bottles in a refrigerator; serve chilled.
